배경훈 과학기술정보통신부 장관이 미국 샌프란시스코에서 열린 AMD 행사에서 리사 수 AMD 최고경영자를 만났습니다. 리사 수 CEO는 한국의 반도체 기업과 AI 반도체 스타트업이 AMD와 함께 새로운 생태계를 만들자고 제안했습니다. 지금은 엔비디아 한 회사가 AI 반도체 시장을 거의 독점하고 있습니다. 배 장관은 AMD가 개방형 생태계를 넓히는 것이 큰 의미가 있다고 말했습니다. 이 자리에서 망고부스트, 모레 같은 한국 기업들의 이름도 나왔습니다. 배 장관은 앞으로 에이전틱 AI 시대가 오면서 다양한 AI 반도체 생태계가 필요하다고 강조했습니다.

Minister Bae Kyung-hoon of the Ministry of Science and ICT met AMD CEO Lisa Su at an AMD event held in San Francisco, USA. CEO Lisa Su proposed that Korean semiconductor companies and AI chip startups build a new ecosystem together with AMD. Right now, Nvidia alone almost monopolizes the AI chip market. Minister Bae said that AMD's expansion of an open ecosystem carries great significance. At the meeting, the names of Korean companies such as MangoBoost and Moreh were also mentioned. Minister Bae emphasized that as the era of agentic AI arrives, a diverse AI chip ecosystem is needed.
