As the summer vacation season begins, airports across the country are getting crowded. From July 25 to August 10, a total of 16,242 flights will operate at airports nationwide, and about 2.7 million people are expected to use them. Of these, about 1.45 million people will use domestic flights, and about 1.25 million people will use international flights. On average, this means about 160,000 people will pass through airports nationwide each day. According to a survey by the Korea Transport Institute, 51.5% of respondents said they plan to go on a summer vacation this year. Accordingly, since July 23, Incheon International Airport has been opening some departure halls 30 minutes earlier than usual and has increased immigration staff during the early morning hours. Airport authorities are preparing so that passengers can travel more conveniently.
