빠르게 늙어가는 한국 사회

한국 사회는 점점 더 빠르게 나이 들고 있습니다. 2000년에 65세 이상 인구가 전체의 7%를 넘으면서 한국은 고령화사회에 들어섰습니다. 그 후 2017년에는 이 비율이 14%를 넘어 고령사회가 되었습니다. 그리고 2024년에는 마침내 20%를 넘어서 초고령사회에 진입했습니다. 이렇게 짧은 기간에 이만큼 빠르게 고령화가 진행된 나라는 세계에서도 드뭅니다. 그만큼 한국의 고령화 속도는 세계에서 가장 빠른 편으로 꼽힙니다. 이런 변화 때문에 노인 복지와 연금 제도에 대한 사회적 관심도 점점 커지고 있습니다.
Translation
Korean society is aging faster and faster. In 2000, as the population aged 65 and older exceeded 7% of the total, Korea entered an "aging society." Then in 2017, this proportion surpassed 14%, making Korea an "aged society." And in 2024, it finally passed 20%, and Korea entered a "super-aged society." Countries where aging progresses this fast in such a short period are rare in the world. Accordingly, Korea's pace of aging is considered one of the fastest in the world. Because of these changes, social interest in elderly welfare and the pension system is also growing more and more.
